Secret to Sowing and Reaping

Secret to Sowing and Reaping

In the 1960’s, Pete Seager from the group The Byrds wrote the music for the song “Turn – Turn – Turn,” taking it straight to the roof of the music charts.

The wisdom in the lyrics were taken directly from the Bible – chapter 3 in the book of Ecclesiastes. It made a huge impact on all of it’s listeners due to how strongly the words rang true as they still do today.

Imagine! There IS a specified time & place for everything under heaven, a specific order in the big scheme of things. Nothing happens by chance or accident. No chaos, God is in control!

Secret to Sowing (Planting) and Reaping (Harvesting) What a Great Biblical Teaching.
There are 4 stages to sowing and each one is as important as the other. They all work together for a strong cycle of growth. We want strong roots to grow and a big harvest. Without all stages, we’d be ill prepared.
The Process
  1. Preparing the ground.
  2. Planting the seed.
  3. Investing in the growth.
  4. Picking up the harvest.
Sowing and Reaping is one of God’s life laws.
  • God has placed within you all you need to step out and walk confidently.
  • Fix your eyes on the prize, then put some action behind it. Keep an attitude of expectancy until you see results.
Preparing the ground.
Start with rich soil. It has to be broken, turned over and prepared to be productive and full of life. Feed your soil well to produce the crop you’ve investing time and money into. When the foundation is done and you’re ready to plant. As much as we’d love to go straight to the reaping season, there is a process to go through.
Planting the seed.
Purchase & prepare the seeds. Some need to be prepped before-hand, while others are sown as they are. Be sure to plant properly in the ground, covering with layers of dirt. Each plant variety has special needs so follow directions.
Investing in the growth.
It’s waiting time; it’ll take a few weeks to reach the next stage. Seeds will sprout soon, but in the next several days, the seed will rot & die. Then, voila! It’ll be reborn. Although we’ll not see what’s going on, trust that the seeds are being transformed by the rain & sun every day. At this stage, there’s not much to do but wait.
Picking up the harvest.
Finally, reaping season is here: strong solid roots have grown and we have an abundant harvest. The fruit of our labor is here and we are so excited to see the results. YAY! Bon Appetit!
If you’re not making as much progress as you’d like to see, the key is persevere.
DON’T EVER QUIT.
  • Use the principle of sowing and reaping.
  • Hold your position, your passion and persevere.
  • Keep a good attitude and do the right thing even when it’s hard.
  • When you do that, you’re passing the test. Stand firm.
  • Your harvest is coming. Be encouraged – Blessings are coming!
Sowing and Reaping is one of God’s life laws.
You will ALWAYS harvest what you sow. (Galatians 6:7)
  • Thing is, a seed doesn’t know if it’s a good seed or a bad one. All it knows is that it should grow.
  • It’s YOUR job to make sure you’re sowing the best so you don’t get crap. <smile!>
Have you ever looked at a large old tree and wondered how long it has been there? It’s amazing to think that at one point that gigantic tree was merely a tiny seed. In the same way, our words and actions are seeds. Think about the types of seeds you have been sowing.
  • What are you sowing? Encouragement? Hope? Blessings? Then it’s what you’ll reap in the future.
  • If you’ve been sowing criticism, judgment, discouragement and defeat, you’re probably already reaping a bad harvest.
It’s time to start changing your seeds.
Today I encourage you to pull out any negative seed you may have planted and begin sowing good seeds for the future.
You see, my friend. THAT… is the secret.
How we’d love every season of life to be a time of harvest and good breaks! But without all 4 seasons we would be ill prepared and weak.
I compare this process to life. We give birth to an idea, a project or a new venture. To get started on it’s rightful path, we feed ourselves information, we study this new subject and then set it into motion. We get prepared. We “plant” the seeds.
Remember all is not visible with the human eye. There is progress, but we can only see it in hindsight. Just as we get discouraged, a “sprout” pops up.
Oh! That beautiful sprout. We keep feeding it, watering and taking care of it so it becomes strong & fruitful. We’re vigilant. Before we know it, there are strong solid sprouts all over the field… and we are reaping the fruit of our hard earned labor.

To Everything (Turn~Turn~Turn)

To Everything (Turn~Turn~Turn). There is a season (Turn~Turn~Turn).

And a time to every purpose under Heaven.

A time to be born a time to die. A time to plant a time to reap.

A time to kill, a time to heal. A time to laugh, a time to weep.

A time to build up, a time to break down. A time to dance, a time to mourn.

A time to cast, away stones. A time to gather, stones together.

A time of love, a time of hate. A time of war, a time of peace.

A time you may embrace. A time to refrain, from embracing.

A time to gain, a time to lose. A time to mend, a time to sew.

A time for love, a time for hate..

A time for peace, I swear it’s not too late….
